Requisitions and writs of arrest, 1843-1954.

Requisitions on executives of other states by the Governor of Alabama for the return of fugitives accused or convicted of offenses committed in Alabama. Requisitions for fugitives are also know as extradition or rendition warrants and are accompanied by agent pay form for reimbursement of expenses for returning the fugitive to Alabama. Interfiled with extradition warrants are writs of arrest issued by the Governor of Alabama in response to requisitions for extradition from executives of other states. These loose writs of arrest need to be kept until they can be cross-referenced with the writs of arrest or requisition registers.
